Meeting between representatives of ENAMA and MIPAF (Italian Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies) and Polish Authorities. Poland, 11 May 2006

On May the 11th in the Polish Ministry of Agriculture an informal technical Meeting has taken place in order to evaluate the possibility to activate a bilateral co-operation in the agricultural mechanisation sector. After a short presentation of the organisations taking part at the Meeting the Polish representatives have expressed their interest for the Enama organisation and its activities as a good example of co-operation among all the actors involved in the sector. The Meeting has then been focused on the opportunities to develop for the industry of both countries improving existing partnerships that do not work according to a whole scale program. Interesting opportunities come from the improvement of these partnerships and from the possibility to organise better the presence of Italian industries in Poland with planned and synergic actions with local industries and traders.
This need has been seen with favour from the Polish representatives because it offers the opportunity for a further development in the industrial and agricultural sectors. Activities may start with small machines more suitable to the development of local farmers with special reference to sugar beet harvesters, crop protection and irrigation equipment. Besides, it has been underlined the need to activate further partnerships between Enama and the Polish testing stations through common projects.

For the future some events will be organised during the next Polagra Farm at Poznan and the Kielce fair that are the most important national events.

National Seminar: Rationalising the use of water in the irrigation industry - Arezzo, 10 February 2005

Comparison of regional experiences for the co-ordinated development of initiatives for saving water – Arezzo, Italy – 10 February 2005:
At the afternoon round-table session, ENAMA staff illustrated the efforts that the body has made in this area, with particular reference to the establishment of a specific protocol for the certification of the functional and safety aspects of irrigation machinery, together with the publishing of information documents on such machinery (a special guideline document was produced on reel sprayers). The importance of the collaboration between ENAMA and ARSIA (the Regional Agenda for Development and Innovation in the Agricultural and Forestry sector) was also underlined, since this joint project led to the shared organisation of a number of initiatives, including some on the theme of irrigation and water rationalisation.

Pavia Conference 14/12/05

ENAMA participated in a conference - orchestrated by the Lombardy Regional Authority and the Pavia ASL - on the safety of mechanised equipment used in vine cultivation, during which the safety issue was addressed from several different points of view, thanks to the contributions made by expert speakers on the various aspects of the issue.

ENAMA's contribution was geared towards underlining the importance of voluntary product certification in general, focusing on its usefulness in relation to safety issues that are also applicable to the mechanisation of vine cultivation.

A presentation was also made on the national consultancy activities carried out during 2005 on the functional control of spraying machines currently in use, co-ordinated by ENAMA as part of a project approved by MIPAF through Italian Ministerial Decree No. 10730 of 21/12/04, with technical support provided by Turin University's DEIAFA. The objective of the project is to lay down the guidelines for regional controls.
