| Why is so much care taken with safety-related aspects in the agricultural machinery sector? | |
Most accidents in agriculture happen through the use of machinery.
| What does ENAMA actually do relating to the problems of managing and correctly using machinery with special reference to safety? | |
It publishes specific collections of documents (monographs, guidelines and datasheets) that provide the whole agricultural machinery sector with information on the correct interpretation of law provisions, for a better use of agricultural machinery and an exhaustive analysis of risks. Furthermore, it performs demonstrations at trade fairs on the correct use of machinery and related devices and on the various safety requirements that machinery must meet.
| In which language must the instructions for use and the CE declaration of conformity be written? Does the CE declaration of conformity need to be signed? | |
Point 1.7.4 of the machinery directive (directive 98/37/CE) states that "the instructions for use must be written in one of the community languages of the manufacturer or of its established mandatary in the community. When being made operational, each piece of machinery must be accompanied by a translation of the instructions into the language(s) of the country in which the machinery is to be used and also by the original instructions. The translation must be done by the manufacturer or by its established mandatary in the community, or by the company responsible for bringing the machinery into the relevant linguistic area." Accordingly, machinery sold and used in Italy must be supplied along with instructions written in Italian. This translation may be done by the manufacturer, by its mandatary or by the company that brings the machinery into Italy. The same regulations apply to the language in which the declaration must be written. The CE declaration must be signed. |
