Promotion of the development of biomass plants for energy transformation on farms
Duration: until March 31st, 2015
Regulatory reference: D.M. n. 11077 of December 19th, 2008
Planned Activities: ENAMA has provided support to MiPAAF on the management of a call for proposals to promote the best projects aimed at the realization, completion or improvement of innovative plants for the production of biomass energy. This activity has contributed to the realization of numerous pilot and demonstration plants.
Once the plants becomes operative, a monitoring and dissemination activity is planned to provide information to all stakeholders and a clear example for the future realization of new plants using innovative experimented technologies.
Thanks to the contribution and the sharing of contents by all Enama Members, representing all the players in the chain (from research to industry, distribution and active farms in the area), the complex system that moves around agro-energy production has been thoroughly analyzed leading to the drafting of the "Enama Biomass Project".
This project and analysis tool - available to MiPAAF - includes analysis of biomass characteristics and availability, plants census, regulatory framework, and an overview of available technologies.
Furthemore, within the Biomass Project, it was carried out a research activity for the development of a microbiological fuel cell in collaboration with “La Sapienza” University.
